Tub and Shower Panels Tub and shower panels are 3/8” thick +/- and are normally cast with a smooth finish. These panels weigh approximately four pounds per square foot. Wall panels are made with a factory finished edge wherever it would be exposed on the job. This eliminates the need for an extra trim kit. Typically, panels are made a little oversized to accommodate out of square or out of plumb wall conditions. Trimming in the field is easily accomplished with a circular saw and masonry blade or a belt sander with 80 grit sand paper. Wall panels can also be molded with a slate effect finish. Cast polymer panels are an excellent material for steam showers – impermeable to moisture – perfect for the ceiling, and floor to ceiling applications.
